AI-Built App Security Reviews

AI development tools make it possible to build a working product in days. They also make it easy to ship one where any signed-in user can read every other user’s data, or where a secret key is sitting in the browser bundle.

This review is a practical, independent check of an AI-built application before it goes to production, focused on the problems these tools tend to produce.

What we review

  • Authentication and authorisation
  • Cross-user and cross-tenant data access
  • IDOR and BOLA vulnerabilities
  • Backend API security
  • Exposed API keys and credentials
  • Database permissions and row-level security
  • Storage bucket and file access configuration
  • Dependency vulnerabilities
  • Security misconfiguration
  • Business logic relevant to your application

What you receive

  • Security findings with supporting evidence
  • Fixes in priority order
  • Code-level remediation guidance where feasible
  • Optional verification once you have made the fixes

Scope and limitations

  • The review is scoped to the application, environments and accounts agreed in writing. Third-party platforms are only tested within their own published testing rules.
  • A review reduces risk at a point in time. It does not guarantee the application is free of vulnerabilities, and new code can introduce new ones.
  • Continuous or automated testing is not part of this service.

Common questions

Do you need access to the code?

It helps a great deal. With read access to the repository and the database configuration, we can find and explain problems much faster than by testing from outside alone.

Which stacks do you work with?

Commonly Next.js, React and similar front ends with Supabase, Firebase or a custom API, and payment providers such as Stripe. If your stack is different, ask; the underlying problems are usually the same.

Can you fix the issues as well?

Where it is feasible, we provide code-level guidance or suggested changes for the issues found. The details are agreed as part of scoping.

How long does it take?

Most reviews of a small application take around a week from receiving access. We will give you a date when we agree the scope.

Tell us what you would like reviewed and when you need it. We will reply with questions or a proposed scope and a fixed quote. An enquiry is not authorisation to test anything.
